Hi Everyone, there has been a lot of discussion recently in the media about when the CV-19 vaccine will be available to the public. There is an assumption that when the vaccine is released, everyone will have it readily available. That assumption is not aligned with the rollout plans documented in the HHS Playbook. The HHS has created a logical prioritization of who gets it when. The masses will not be lining up at their local drug store and receiving the vaccine when it is potentially released in January. As indicated in the playbook, first responders and medical personnel are priorities. Older adults age 65 and over are also identified as “at-risk.”
I downloaded the HHS playbook and I have highlighted sections specific to older adults. Please carefully read page 43, as the guidelines are specific to older adults. Other sections related to seniors are on pages 10, 14, 15, 16, and 18.
