Older Voters

Hi Readers,

We are getting closer to the election and there has been a lot of discourse about older voters, as they overwhelmingly vote over other age cohorts. They have also been subjected to ageism, with politicians and pundits suggesting that they are irrelevant, a drag on society, and are being lay diagnosed with dementia. As a reminder, dementia must be diagnosed by a professional in the field, not news commentators or writers. Older adults are valuable assets and their many years of life experience offset slowed cognitive recall.  Slowed recall and/or speech impediments are NOT dementia.

Please remember to gather the facts, decide for yourself, and then vote.

Taxpayers pay for healthcare for older people, right? NO! Medicare enrollees pay premiums and it varies on the program they select and their income. Read more about it here:

This USA map is an interactive tool to help voters narrow their choices and read about their candidates without the media spin. From this website, I learned that seven people are running for president. Explore elections by state and review the candidates according to the office they seek. Another way is by exploring the candidates by office. For example, president, senate, house of representatives, and governors. Voters may also explore the data by issue. Metrics of sub-categories are also available.
