Outdoor fun does wonders for the body and soul. But do you know that the sun also causes premature aging including wrinkles, spots, and dry, leathery skin? Not to mention skin cancer.
Skin cancer has increased dramatically over the last 30 years, especially in Australia, Europe, and North America. Skin cancer is the second most common form of cancer in the United States.
FACT: Exposure to the sun is the leading BEHAVIORAL cause of skin cancer.
FACT: 90% of skin cancer is PREVENTABLE.
So have fun, chill out, and follow these steps for skin cancer prevention:
1. Apply sun screen at least 30 minutes prior to sun exposure and reapply every two hours.
2. Cover up. Wear protective clothing including long sleeves and long pants.
3. Wear a hat that covers the ears.
4. Wear protective sunglasses that block at least 95% of the UVA rays.
