Blatant Ageism ~ No Justice for Old Judges in New York

Hi Readers,

I am following up with an article I posted here on December 5, 2020, titled Age Discrimination Case ~ New York. Forty-six judges relieved of their posts when the state of New York refused to renew their certification. Although in New York the mandatory retirement for judges is seventy, if they are fit to serve, they are typically recertified every two years until age seventy-six. In my professional opinion, this is a case of blatant ageism.

On March 9, 2021, Nina Pullano authored an article in Courthouse News Service titled, "Split Appeals Court Shuts Down NY Judges in Ageism Suit." Her article provides an update on how the appeal court justified the dismissal of the judges.
